Camersoft Skype Video Recorder is a utility that can be used to record calls. It can basically record anything that goes on your screen, so you can use it to record a video call, or a chat session, or even other applications that are not Skype. There are two ways in which you can start recording. You can do it by letting the app determine where the video of your call is or you can select the region of the screen that you want to capture. Both video and audio are captured during recording, and when you stop it, it will be saved into an AVI file. The program also comes with a video converter that you can use to convert your recordings to a variety of other formats.
In my testing, I did a clean install of Skype and then installed this app with Skype running. After the software was installed I was able to start recording. Once you record something, the application's main window will change. At first, you are shown on-screen help on how to use the application, but after you record, you will see a list of recordings. You can access those by going to the folder where you have saved them. I noticed that Skype asked me whether I wanted to give Camersoft Skype Video Recorder access, and I said yes, so the detection of where the video is should be pretty accurate.
The only bad thing that I can think about the way this app records is that if you move the window at all, you will mess up your recording. This utility will record anything that is in the selected area, so you have to be careful not to move anything in that area by mistake, or it will get recorded.
